an opportunity taken is an opportunity took

sorry didn't post for awhile... not like anyone reads this anyways. haha. very few if so.

thought i'd rant and rave today. it gets so frustrating sometimes. what's so frustrating you ask?
when people pray and ask God for an opportunity to share the gospel.

why is that so frustrating - you ask?

well for one. we needn't pray for an opportunity to arise for us to take and share the gospel. why do i say this? it sounds contradictory to scripture i guess. but it isn't.

listen. we've been praying for the wrong thing here. we shouldn't be praying that God will give us an opportunity to share the gospel with our family or with our friends... we should be praying that God will give us the strength, wisdom and courage to take the opportunity God has already provided to us.

see - when we're with our friends -- that is an opportunity.
when we're with our family -- that is an opportunity.
if we're walkin down the road by some strangers -- that is an opportunity.
you go to the movie store? there's an opportunity for ya - or go to some coffee shop? oh look! there's another opportunity!

everywhere we go - that is an opportunity to share the gospel.
why do we pray that God will give us an opportunity? i believe we've got too much fear to step out on our own and start a convo about the gospel. the fear of man has taken over us.

so we need not pray that God will give us an opportunity to share the gospel -- because the opportunities are abounding and plentiful. they are already there for the taking.

we need to be praying that God will show us his path to wisdom, righteousness, strength -- to beable to recognize the opportunities around us and to take them. and use them wisely.

i guess it's not all that frustrating after all. but it does make me think.
i mean - how many days have gone by where we've been praying for an opportunity to share the gospel -- when all that time we could have taken an opportunity already and used our time here on earth with wisdom. how many days have gone by - how many opportunities missed? it hurts me to think of all those people who are clueless or careless - not knowing that the day of judgement is coming and we'll all have to face God.
------

on another note - what a glorious day today!
until next time - go serve your King.

God bless.
