vanity of vanities saith the preacher

in a world where life is based on materialism. we thrive in our faith.

why is that. because we're comfortable where we live? if we were in any of a less desirable place of residence - how would your life play out? would faith just be another one of those "forbidden churchy words"?

vanity of vanities, saith the preacher, vanity of vanities, all is vanity.

i think the north american church would be excommunicated (borrowing terms from paul washer's sermon) if it was part of any third world country.
i just love that line. simply cause i agree with it.

look around us. we've got the luxury of eating 3 to 5 times a day including snacks and desert galore. and we bicker about spending $30 bucks a month to support a kid in africa? wow. just wow.

now. i'm not just accusing everyone but me - i'm guilty as charged here. but c'mon people. look at us. selfish - even though we may think we're not.

God has provided us with good things here... should we take advantage of that? i think not.

gee, brain, what do you want to do tonight?
-same thing we do every night pinky...

the Great Commission.
that's all i've got to say - however which way you choose to play that out. that's completely up to you.

until that great and glorious day.
go serve your King.
